Breast Cosmetic Surgery is Very Useful

Plastic surgery has been around for quite some time, with the first recorded procedure being carried out in ancient India in 600 B.C. Nose jobs, scar removal and other cosmetic surgery methods were widely practiced in ancient Rome and India. Plastic surgery came to Europe through British surgeons, after they witnessed some of the procedures performed by their Indian counterparts. Modern day cosmetic surgery developed only after the First World War. The numbers of disfigured victims was so immense that doctors had to invent new and innovative ways of treating them. This resulted in the birth of plastic surgery as we know it today.

Breast cosmetic surgery remains one of the most popular kinds of plastic surgery. The first breast augmentation surgery was performed in Germany. A singer had a growth in her breast removed. The surgeons transplanted fat from her back and reshaped her breasts. Present day breast augmentative surgery developed in 1962 with the use of prosthetic breasts filled with silicone gel. These implants looked and felt like real breasts and became hugely popular among patients and surgeons alike.

Plastic surgery doesn't have cosmetic benefits alone; in many cases the surgeries can save lives. Using breast removal and augmentation techniques, doctors can not only remove a cancerous breast tumor, but also, shape and modify the breasts to maintain symmetry. Cosmetic surgery also enhances a patient's self esteem and confidence, as looking good translates into feeling good.
